Rev. Dr. Joseph McBrayer

Joseph McBrayer bio photo 2017 (instagram deacon)Hi, I’m Joseph. I enjoy music, technology, photography/video, digital story telling, and learning. I am passionate about life, justice, and community–and coffee.

I’m an ordained deacon in the North Ga United Methodist Church and I hold a Forestry Degree from Auburn University, as well as a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. I have previously served in ministry with Emory Wesley Fellowship, the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry’s Collegiate Ministry division, and Glenn Memorial UMC.

I grew up in Carrollton, GA and I have lived in and around Decatur, GA for the past 11 years with my spouse, Frances, who is a social worker with Refugees. We are parents to a remarkable little girl and I’ll be happy to show to photos!

You can connect with me on Instagram @RevJmcbray, on Facebook, on twitter @jmcbray, email me at joseph.mcbrayer@ngumc.net, or drop by my office for a cup of coffee.

  1. Hey Joseph!

Just stumbled upon your blog. I was very excited to see that you graduated school, and even more interested to come here and find a way of keeping up with what’s going on with you – especially you’re most recent deferred pending appointment! I do pray the ministry power of Mr. Wesley following you in your track – that our Lord Jesus be glorified in your life. Not much else to say here, just wanted to leave a simple note.
